Grading & Report Cards

The following grading percentages will be used to determine the average report card grade for each core academic subject assigned a numerical grade every six weeks.

Classwork, interactive notebook entries, quizzes, exit tickets, etc.

Projects, unit assessments, essays, presentations, etc.

  • Students will be given a reasonable opportunity to redo a test scoring 69% or less.
  • The highest grade a student may receive for a retake is 70% no matter the retake grade.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN

Subjects are marked according to the scale listed on the report card.

GRADING RUBRIC FOR SPECIALTY CLASSES

The following rubric is used for grading specialty classes. An E, S, N or U will be assigned for the environmental science lab, math & engineering lab, library, physical education, and music.

*Students who receive 3 conduct cuts within a 6-week period, during specialty, will not attend Donovan Park.

HONOR ROLL

Students in kindergarten through 5th grade are eligible for honor roll.

All A’s Honor Roll: Students who receive straight A’s in all core subject areas (math, RLA, science, and social studies).

All A’s + 1 B Honor Roll: Students who receive all A’s and only one B in core subject areas.

Students who make honor roll for the first 5 grading cycles will be awarded an honor roll medal at the end of year award ceremony.

For the purpose of honor roll, A’s are considered report card scores of 90 and above. B’s are considered report card scores of 80-89.
